Lightweight comedy with Davis as a cafeteria worker who is hired by a cosmetics company to pose as an heiress for publicity purposes. A rumor starts that the "heiress" is about to marry Lebedeff, a famous, if poverty-tricken, count. This irks Hughes, who really wants to marry Lebedeff,
so she engages a private detective to find out Davis' real background. Meanwhile, reporter Brent, in an interview with Davis, is told she wants no business with fortune-hunters. He proposes a marriage of convenience; she'll be free to make the social scene without worry of men and he'll be wealthy
