Suavely continental supporting actor Lebedeff plays his first starring role as a handsome captain in the Russian army during WW I, dispatched to Bucharest to trap an important spy--a veritable Mata Hari. In a confusing plot, the charming captain encounters a number of beautiful,
sophisticated ladies, any one of whom could be his quarry. Ultimately, the choice narrows down to Tobin and Compson, for either of whom a man might well forsake his allegiance to his country. The counterspy captain captures both, Compson for her devilish deeds and Tobin for his heart's delight.
