With the release on videotape of THE GARDEN OF DELIGHTS, a little-seen Carlos Saura film from 1970 that played that year's New York Film Festival, one can see what must be ranked as one of film's most impressive acting performances--that of Jose Luiz Lopez Vazquez as Antonio, a wealthy industrialist who has lost his memory and all but the simplest physical skills in an automobile accident. At the start of the film, Antonio is confined to a wheelchair, barely able to move or speak.
