There's a bit of "Romeo and Juliet" in here, a trace of the Hatfields and the McCoys, and little pieces of several other stories. Livesey owns a mill on the Floss River in Lincolnshire in England. An irrigation scheme is planned by the local lord, but Livesey intends to maintain his water rights, despite the legal machinations of Aylmer, who represents the estate.
