One of the first sound oaters to use the new medium to its fullest potential, FIGHTING LEGION demonstrates cowboy star Maynard's foresight by his incorporation of music and singing into the western as well as the standard atmospheric devices of thundering hoofbeats, gunshots, and
tough-guy dialog. The story, however, is painfully typical. Maynard rides off in search of the murderer of his brother, a Texas Ranger. He eventually locates the scoundrel, Adams, and the film ends with the inevitable showdown at midnight on Main Street.
