Bull McCabe (Richard Harris) is a man of the land, a farmer whose reverence for nature far exceeds his tolerance for human frailty. McCabe and his wife Maggie (Brenda Fricker) haven't spoken for 18 years, their relationship poisoned by the suicide of their 13-year-old son.
