Hayley Mills comes of age in this frank marital comedy costarring Bennett as her newlywed husband. The film begins on the day of their much-awaited wedding, capped off with a practical joke that sends their bed collapsing to the floor as they are about to consummate their marriage. Their desire to become former virgins is again ruined when their honeymoon plans fall through, forcing them to stay with their folks. Eventually the deed is done in a tactful and gentle scene.
