An intriguing premise gets lost in an excess of plot here. Derek accidentally kills his best friend, but since there were no witnesses he fails to inform the police. He tells only his family, who differ in their opinions on what to do. His father, impeccably portrayed by Cobb, insists he
should confess, while Mom (O'Brien-Moore) wants to keep it quiet. Dad buckles under family pressure and opts to keep his mouth shut. Plot becomes implausible when Cobb is called on to act as the lawyer for the innocent man accused of the crime. Eventually, Derek's guilt forces him to confess,
leading to a stint in the slammer.
