Cybulski and Ziemann, a young Polish couple, are unable to be alone together because of the critical housing shortage in Warsaw. Caught up in a depressing world of socialist bureacracy and red tape, they somehow manage to transcend their surroundings and find true love. This classic Eastern European film is a must-see and was unusual in its time as a Polish-West German coproduction.
