A straight-laced chick gets twisted up in her late twin’s sex harness in this bondage thriller. High on recreational drugs and weary of her promiscuity, not-so-plain Jane Wright (Janet Kidder) apparently takes her own life. But her twin sister, Megan (also Kidder) doesn’t buy the official story. Testing the patience of her fiance, Sean Leonard (Paul Johansson), Megan not only pries into Jane’s leather fetish past but also starts hanging out at Jane’s apartment. At Jane’s bohemian digs, Megan meets neighbor Vicki (Patsy Kensit), who seems intrigued by the idea of making over Megan in Jane’s image. When Megan isn’t trying on Jane’s S&M gear, she’s becoming fast friends with Jane’s ex-beau, Michael Pacer (Jason Priestley). Unfortunately, the unusually intense Michael may have been stalking fickle Jane. Fascinated by Jane’s sexual proclivities, Megan becomes liberated in ways that don't sit well with the conservative Paul, who warns her about the slippery slope of alternative lifestyles. After obtaining video evidence that Jane wasn’t in a suicidal frame of mind, Megan alarms Jane’s killer by snatching an incriminating phone-message tape. Out of her depth in Jane’s sleazy world, Megan stumbles upon Vicki’s corpse and confronts the madman, leading to a climax in which she must use the tools of Jane's trade for self-defense rather than kinky thrills. Director Dominic Shiach's thriller quickly degenerates into a series of who-can-she-trust set pieces, but Kidder (the niece of actress Margot Kidder) is actress enough to handle playing two very different sisters. leave a comment --Robert Pardi
