The Dark Side Of Tomorrow: Review

A sensitive portrayal of loneliness and lesbianism, the story involves two suburban housewives, Plumb and Courtney. Their husbands are constantly away on aerospace business, leaving the two alone. The women are lunching at a Sunset Strip cafe when they spy a lesbian couple at the next table. The two are fascinated by their behavior. Courtney is intrigued but scared, while Plumb is upset by her attraction to her friend. Courtney initiates the affair and the two behave like two teenage lovers until Courtney switches her attention to a young actor, Aprea. Plumb is deeply hurt and tries to go gay all the way with a dykie fashion designer who seduces her on a pool table in the middle of a party. The film is often heavy-handed and gets bogged down in long philosophical dissertations. leave a comment
