Jolly good show. The best pirate send-up ever made. Plethora of swordplay and acrobatics, and many flashes of Lancaster's incisors and muscles. Filmed in England and Spain, the picture feels as though it may have begun with the idea of doing a straight seafaring movie, but somewhere along the way they all started to enjoy themselves so much that they altered their course a few degrees and came up with a comedy that has gained a cult following. leave a comment
