The Crimson Key

A well-trodden whodunit, this puts Taylor on the trail of a wealthy and jealous wife's night-owl doctor husband. Taylor endlessly beats the pavement when both husband and client are murdered. Getting knocked about many times on the way, he traces the case to Dowling, an exotic-looking miss who steams the screen, a patient of the dead doctor. Nosing around with the expected aptitude, Taylor finally exposes the guilty party. Could have been much better if the heavily plotted script had allowed for some breathing room.
