This bastardization of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Premature Burial" stars Eric von Stroheim in one of his most outrageous roles. Stroheim injects his rival with a drug that induces suspended animation. He then has the rival buried so that he can gloat over the man's reaction upon finding
himself in a coffin. Von Stroheim is so campy in his portrayal that the film's entertainment value derives from unintentional laughs.
