The wealthy Van Arsdales can't keep a steady nanny because their two blond, bland, angelic-looking fraternal twins (Brady Bluhm and Rachel Duncan, who would look at home in VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED) are incorrigible troublemakers. By chance the kids' hand-scrawled want ad for a fresh caretaker attracts Edie (D'Angelo), a hard-drinking recent parolee. Impressed by her streetwise and libertine demeanor, the youngsters trick their clueless parents (Ed Begley Jr. and Carol Kane) into hiring Edie, who schemes to sell the brats on the underground adoption black market while the elder Van Arsdales are abroad....
