The "Latin Lover" of Hollywood films takes on the lovable Cisco Kid role in this one, his first of many during the next several years, and reviewers were unanimous in praising Romero over Warner Baxter, his predecessor. In a made-to-order plot for the Kid, he thwarts the murderer of a
prospector whose claim the killer wanted for himself, thereby saving the mine for the prospector's orphaned baby. Schoolteacher Weaver takes in the baby, and Romero, in his suave way, dallies with her. She lets him know that she loves another, so the Mexican-border Robin Hood switches his
affections to a dance-hall girl, who saves him from capture at the end.
