The second film of three "Mr. District Attorney" films Gilmore as a pert reporter constantly tracking down clues in a homicide case. A publisher of a fashion magazine is murdered, and the finger of blame seems to point at practically everyone. Ellison, as Gilmore's assistant DA fiance,
tries to keep her out of the picture for her own protection, but she keeps breaking into the case until it is solved. The film was preceded by MR. DISTRICT ATTORNEY (1941), and was followed by SECRETS OF THE UNDERGROUND (1943).
