As the Civil War ends, Ireland vows never to use a gun against a man again. Traveling west, he stops for a while in a town in which Chaney is the local powerhouse. When Malone's newspaper publisher father is killed after printing some anti-Chaney articles, Ireland straps on his gun again
and wipes out Chaney and his men. Winning the support of the townspeople and the love of Malone, Ireland settles down permanently. Good, simply constructed western that gets its character from Malone and Ireland, who perform admirably.
