The story is set in a small town where a local television program, "Independent Thinking," hosted by prominent psychologist Dr. Blake (David Gale), has become eerily popular. Jim (Tom Breznahan), a troublemaking high-school senior, is forced into therapy with Blake. The boy is hooked up to electrodes that, without his knowledge, are also attached to a huge, living brain. A Canadian production, THE BRAIN is nearly indistinguishable from many other films in the teenage horror category. Perhaps the biggest disappointment, however, are the special effects, which look promising at first but fizzle as the film progresses. leave a comment
