Gory Italian murder mystery starring Giannini as a detective who searches for an unmotivated, psychopathic killer who murders his victims by stabbing them with a knife dipped in tarantula venom (hence the obnoxious title). Along the way he encounters Prete, a blackmailer who uses
incriminating photos to collect his ransom; Auger, who runs a mysterious health spa; and two usually unclothed femmes who have appeared in James Bond movies, Bach and Bouchet. Musical score by the brilliant Italian composer Morricone is the best thing about this Mediterranean potboiler.
