THE BIG TREES is a remake of the VALLEY OF THE GIANTS (1938) and it suffers by comparison. Everybody who lives in and around Eureka, California, and who has the slightest interest in the lumber business is against the religious sect that resides in the redwoods. Kirk Douglas, a lumberjack
