Don Siegel, in one of his earliest efforts, helmed this chase movie about Mitchum and Greer chasing Knowles across Mexico (where the film was shot). Knowles has an Army payroll worth several hundred G's. Meanwhile, Bendix is after Mitchum. There are lots of holes in the story, but it
doesn't matter as Siegel's sharp direction, Homes' and Adams' tight script, and Beetley's editing keep the action full throttle. Mitchum is full of energy as a framed officer trying to get the real perpetrator of the deed. It's well-crafted surprise.
