While not quite the monstrosity it might be, this slight, occasionally diverting attempt to cross film noir with sentimental comedy doesn't wear its mixed heritage lightly. Devoted Tanya (Lara Flynn Boyle) works nights as a bartender in L.A.'s Highland Park to support embittered, abusive husband Henry (Luca Bercovici), whose baseball career was scuttled by a knee injury.
