By the time they made this, Laurel and Hardy had been working together for almost twenty years. In comparison to many other L&H pictures, it is woeful. (But compared to what passes for comedy lately, it's hysterical!) They made three more films after this one and none was particularly good or successful; this was about the last of it and, for that alone, it merits watching. Stan and Ollie are mail-order detectives hired to guard a new bomb at the inventor's house.
