Smooth sailing all the way. Standard Hollywood bio of songwriters De Sylva, Brown and Henderson featuring a slew of tunes. Composers are played by MacCrae, Dailey and Borgnine, a nice contrast between actors. Among the many standards performed in the movie are "Black Bottom," "Button Up Your Overcoat," "Keep Your Sunnyside Up," and the title song. Newman's score earned the film an Oscar nomination, but the highlight is Sheree North. North was brought from Broadway to Fox as a threat to Monroe.
