The story of the development of the atomic bomb, with a love story and other subplots interwoven through the film. Very realistic performances; masterful scripting and production. MGM head Mayer heard that Paramount intended to film a similar story so he rushed this one into production, determined to have the A-bomb exclusively for his studio, buying the story from Hal Wallis for a hefty but unspecified amount. leave a comment
