THE BALTIMORE BULLET is a combination of THE HUSTLER, ROCKY, and about 20 other pictures, but that's okay, because it's sort of fun. Producer-cowriter John F. Brascia, a former ballroom dancer, decided to make this movie about his second love--pool. Nick Casey (James Coburn) takes Billie Joe Robbins (Bruce Boxleitner) under his wing and, when they meet in the ultimate match, informs his pupil that "I taught you everything you know, kid. But I didn't teach you everything I know."
