Sentimental tale of an old Jewish man, Mostel, who has lost his faith in God and himself after a series of personal and business losses. Enter a black angel from heaven, Belafonte, who will earn his wings if he convinces the depressed Mostel that his life does have meaning. The whole thing is a ripoff of Frank Capra's classic IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, but Mostel and Belafonte are appealing and the supporting cast is fine. leave a comment
