This not-so-amazing kiddie flick pits the littlest Ugly American -- sulky, smart-mouthed Ryan (Ryan Slater) -- against nasty panda poachers in the spectacular Chinese highlands. This isn't the kind of film kids clamor to see (they'd probably rather see KIDS); it's the kind of movie they get stuck with seeing because Mom, Dad and Aunt Matilda approve. Stephen Lang, as yet another divorced father who learns how much family really means to him, appears marginally more wholesome than he did in LAST EXIT TO BROOKLYN. The panda, like its Rick Baker-designed animatronic stand-in, is suitably adorable. leave a comment
