Tony Curtis stars as Nick Bonelli, an All-American quarterback who quits school after his parents are killed in a bus accident on their way to see him play. After a brief period of mourning and moping, Nick transfers to a snobby school where he begins again to work magic on the football field. Withstanding the taunts of his wealthy teammates and avoiding the temptation of the off-limits bar tended by the voluptuous Susie (Mamie Van Doren), Nick again becomes a gridiron star with the help of his understanding girl friend (Lori Nelson).
