Sporadically funny but often tiring film that chronicles the life of Picasso, a painter with a sense of humor deeper than this episodic production. Ekman is a Swedish caricature of the great artist performing pratfalls and uttering vulgarities that creat an oafish image rather than the
bemused, incisive character that was Picasso. The forced portrait of a senile Dr. Albert Schweitzer mindlessly operating on a helpless Picasso is abysmal and in the poorest taste.
