The Adventures Of Martin Eden: Review

Stirring, sometimes upsetting Jack London tale of a sailor, Ford, serving on board a hellship, enduring brutal treatment and finally escaping the nightmare that was the fate of early-day seamen. He then vigorously campaigns for the publication of his memoirs and to free his fellow seaman, Erwin, wrongly imprisoned for mutiny. Ford triumphs, exposes the brutal captain and conditions, and brings about Erwin's release. A powerful indictment of a cruel merchant marine system with strong acting and solid production values. leave a comment
