Thought to be chic when first released, this Australian import follows a brash, young, stand-up, comic-strip character on a visit to England and the zanies he encounters during his solo nightclub stands. Price, as Mr. Gort, a shell-shocked war victim, runs about dressed as a small boy with
a stick, asking to be whipped for being disobedient. This kind of humor might edify bush-country yokels used to hardscrabble violence, but such cruel roles are about as humorous as a person being run over by a truck. There are a few laughs, but these will mostly come from the throats of
sophomores.
