Cummings, a youthful defendant, is sent to the electric chair by a hardhitting district attorney, Kelly, one who prides himself on a 100% conviction rate. When his wife Hayes, is murdered, Kelly gets a dose of his own medicine and is convicted and sent to the death house while dogged invetigator Taylor attempts to save him. Most of the film is a polemic against capital punishment, an early-day morality effort diffused by too many confusing subplots. leave a comment
