Too many twists and easy solutions make this crime drama monotonous. Kidd falls into amnesia after being in an auto accident in which he thinks he killed the other driver. He becomes Tad Morgan and falls under the wing of preacher Arvidson, who guides him into the life of a successful evangelist. His old girlfriend, Statten, wants some of his new wealth and decides to concoct a blackmail scheme with her new boy friend, Harmon. Instead, she shocks Kidd's memory into returning. He still doesn't know the other driver was not killed, so Statten pushes her blackmail scheme further and marries him in a fake wedding ceremony. He tries to get rid of her by shoving her off of a bridge, and then returns to his congregation, thinking his problems are over forever. But she has lived through the fall, returns home, and accidentally kills Harmon, thinking it is Kidd. Almost insane by now, she hurries off to kill Kidd; they fight, and he chokes her to death. Distraught, his life comes to an end when he is stricken with a heart attack at the altar. leave a comment
