The 1,000 Plane Raid

1969, Movie, G, 94 mins

George is a US Air Force colonel who convinces the Allies during WW II that a daylight bombing raid of Germany will bring a quick end to the war. The plan is approved although it is extremely dangerous. Discord develops because George demands that normal bombing operations continue until the daylight raid. He dislikes brash Marshall and cautious Murphy, but his attitude toward them changes when he flies with them during the raid and witnesses their bravery. The filmmakers try to pass off Santa Maria, California, as war-torn England (which should provide some clue to the quality of this film).
