This badly produced expose of the music industry stars Keitel as an ambitious young record executive who sees a black-oriented band (played by the members of Earth, Wind, and Fire) as the next big thing and tries to promote them, but is quashed by the mobster types who run the company. The powerbrokers would rather see Keitel put his energies behind an insipid all-white family group featuring Parks, Bostick, and Boyd, so they force him to do so. While the subject matter regarding the wholesale packaging of homogenized music is important and topical, the film is very low budget and hardly survives its sloppy presentation. leave a comment
