That Tender Touch

Bernard plays a young orphan who, as a reaction to an attempted rape, becomes involved in a lesbian relationship with older woman Tompkins. One day Bernard meets Cooper, a sensitive young man who proves to her that not all men are objectionable. Bernard breaks with Tompkins and marries Cooper without telling him about the affair. The women meet again at a party, and Tompkins tries to revive the relationship, but Bernard will have none of it. Faced with a lonely future, Tompkins drowns herself in a swimming pool.
