McCoy plays a masked Robin Hood of the plains who helps weary settlers when their land is grabbed by nasty villains. As such a villain, Taylor wants to do away with do-gooder McCoy, so he offers a hefty reward for his capture--dead or alive. Taylor is moved to do this because he has learned of a lucrative vein of gold on the property of innocent homesteader O'Brien.
