A Mexican gunfighter tries to save his son from a lynch mob, but he ends up causing the boy's death and getting shot in the hand. His hand is amputated, and he is sent to jail for four years. When he is released from prison, he seeks revenge on the sheriff who put him away by taking eight
hostages and threatening to kill one every 10 minutes until he can talk to the sheriff. Thirty minutes later, with three corpses on the ground, the sheriff draws on the Mexican, who in turn goes for his gun with his amputated hand and is killed in an ending so bad, it's almost brilliant. In a
supporting role is Sandra Knight, who at the time was Mrs. Jack Nicholson.
