TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES
starstarstarstar
The trouble with time travel is that just as apocalyptic war between men and machines seems definitively averted, naked robo-killers come back from the future and stir upsome fresh hell. With Linda Hamilton's Sarah Connor AWOL, the burden of stopping the dishy liquid-metal T-X terminator (Kristanna Loken) sent to nip human resistance in the bud falls to her son (Nick Stahl) and a battered T-101 cyborg (suitably weathered Arnold Schwarzenegger). Director Jonathan Moscow delivers the muscular action sequences without losing the sense of melancholy that elevates the Terminator movies above rock 'em- sock 'em robot smackdowns. Terminator Sequel: Fox Makes Mid-season Noise

With the Fox network, it's often all about the mid-season, the time when shows like American Idol and 24 come along to rescue the network from its fall doldrums. Not that it's impossible for any of Fox's September newcomers to catch on. The Kelsey Grammer/Patricia Heaton sitcom Back to You looks very commercial. Easily the most anticipated show on the network's lineup is The Sarah Connor Chronicles (look for the word Terminator to be added to the title before it premieres): a high-octane, big-budge... read more
