Joe E. Brown literally goes to town in this fine comedy about a wealthy Texan (Brown) who packs his bags and winds up in New York City. He may be a tenderfoot, but when some gangsters try to get tough with him, he resorts to gunplay and emerges victorious. All his problems start when he buys into a failing Broadway production, falling in love with typist Rogers.
