Given the task of teaching schoolchildren US history, TEN WHO DARED would be outperformed by flashcards. A very bad movie, it lacks even beautiful locations and good photography. (This one has enough zoom shots to sprain an assistant cameraman's wrist.) Based on the true-life adventures of
one-armed Major John Wesley Powell, the tale dwells on his dangerous expedition down the Colorado River in 1869 which only six of his crew survived. Unfortunately, none of the excitement makes it to the screen, nor does any sympathy for the characters. Noteworthy only for being one of Disney's
worst efforts.
