War correspondent Marquand and three women are washed up on a deserted island when their Red Cross ship is sunk returning from Korea. Passions quickly come into play, with Noel the catalyst. Podesta dies when her patched-up lifeboat, in which she sets off to find help, sinks in a storm. Addams then tells Marquand that Noel is a psychopath whom she was taking back to the US to face murder charges. When Addams becomes intimate with Marquand, Noel kills her.
