A disappointing modernistic fantasy-drama, TEMPEST uses Shakespeare's comedy as a jumping-off point and then goes off into never-never land. Phillip (John Cassavetes), an architect married to Antonia (Gena Rowlands), an actress, takes their daughter, Miranda (Molly Ringwald in her debut), to Greece where he meets a singer, Aretha (Susan Sarandon).
