While this sexploitation picture fulfils its basic T&A requirements (it fairly salivates over buzzwords like "bisexuality" and "serial killing"), it washes out as a crime thriller. Bisexual coed Crystal (Yvette McClenden) is brutally murdered and Santa Barbara detectives Vince (Jason Ryan) and Arraya (Zoe Anderson) get nowhere in their investigation. Meanwhile, Crystal's sister Alex (Amber Smith) sashays into town and, keeping her identity a secret, snags a job at the college radio station so she can launch her own inquiries. Only after sleeping with her station boss David (Byron Bay) does Alex realize that he was Crystal's lover. A mysterious caller begins pestering Alex during her call-in show, but she encounters several other suspects, notably nerdy radio-station engineer Gary (Chad Tillner), who seems a little too interested in Alex's well-being, and Crystal's bisexual girlfriend, Lisa (Erika Michaels), who also seduces Alex. As the cops encourage Alex to bait her crank caller, she becomes the focal point of sibling rivalry between David and his half-brother, Brad (L. Clyde Irvine), who's nursing a powerful grudge against his successful sibling. The extremely competitive Brad enjoys seducing David's gal-pals and makes his move on the disinterested Alex. Then, during a power outage at the station, the maniac strikes again. Will Alex's inquisitive nature lead her to trust the wrong person or will she uncover the killer's identity in time to save herself? Playmate Amber Smith's centerfolds are more animated than her performance as a hot-to-trot Nancy Drew, and though the film features lots of softcore sex, the draggy plot keeps getting in the way. leave a comment --Robert Pardi
