Sol Lesser, who would go on to produce a number of TARZAN features, came up with a new idea for this Buster Crabbe entry into the series. He strung together the first four episodes of a 12-part serial and released them as a full-length movie. The problem is, TARZAN THE FEARLESS does not end, so unless you hung around the theater for the next eight weeks you would not know how this movie wraps up. The start, at least, has Crabbe rescuing a scientist who is captured while on an expedition to find the people of Zar. He saves the scientist, then turns his energies to helping the scientist's daughter, Wells, escape from a crocodile. Made on a shoestring budget with a lion that, according to Crabbe, "didn't have a tooth in his head." leave a comment
