Eilers, who is supposed to carry the film, doesn't last for the duration. She is a fake evangelist who not only heals her flock, but fleeces them as well. She herself finds religion when she heals a crippled person. She turns over a new leaf and hits the preaching trail with zest. Many people thought the story was based on the life of Aimee Semple McPherson, a Los Angeles evangelist. leave a comment
