Gardel was a big draw for films in Spain and South America, and this was his last screen effort before he died in a plane crash just a few weeks after the film was made. When he isn't singing, the plot wears awfully thin. He plays a guy in love with a pretty dancer, Moreno, who is running with some bad apples. They turn on her and Gardel comes to the rescue, but not without almost getting in trouble himself. In the finale, however, he can sing a happy tune and she can do a happy dance, as their love conquers all. (In Spanish.) leave a comment
