Tammy, Tell Me True

Ross Hunter comes up with another story based on the "Tammy" novels by Cid Ricketts Sumner. After Debbie Reynolds' rousing success in TAMMY in 1957, Dee takes the lead in this tearjerker. Dee is a river-person, sad because her boy friend never writes to her from college. She takes matters into her own hands, floats her boat downriver to the local university, and enrolls. To offset costs she becomes an aide to Bondi (a staple in all the "Tammy" films), who is so delighted with her new worker that she moves onto the boat and rewards Dee with an expensive necklace.
